Thankful Series: Mercy and Truth
The Mercy of God is Great unto the Heavens
and His Truth unto the Clouds
Every day I read at least one Psalm from the Bible.
Sometimes I read several,
or the same one over and over.
This is my secret for facing anything that comes during the day.
Whenever I find a verse that has singing or music in it,
I put a little eighth note next to it.
This has been my practice for decades.
Some day I want to write a book about music in the Bible.
I told you two secrets in the same post! Today I read this:
_________________________________________________
Psalm 57:7, My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

Although the music verses are close to my heart,
the Lord used verse 10 today.
He reminded me that His mercy and truth are immeasurable.
Trying to comprehend the immensity of His mercy is impossible for me.
All I need to know, and receive by faith, is the fact that
His mercy and truth are enough.
Today, I had a need. I prayed sincerely and asked the Lord to meet it.
Within a few minutes, He sent me assurance that He is listening.
What a privilege to love the Living God!
